FAQs
1. Where/What is this place?
Albion Normal College of the early 1900s has been renovated to accomodate reunions and groups and the Martenson Reunion Fund has paid the deposit for our entire family to have access to the entire campus on Thursday, August 18 - Sunday, August 21, 2011.

2. What does that access mean?
We will be staying in a an 8000 sq. ft. historic building once used as a college dorm. There is bed space for 65 guests and tons of floor space for the kiddies. There are 15 bedrooms, modern bathrooms and showers, large kitchen and dining area, comfortable gathering areas, game and media room AND high speed internet ALL in the quaint town of Albion, Idaho (located smack in the middle of Boise and Salt Lake City [2.5 hours drive from either.]) Air conditioning is included!

3. How do I get a room?
Step 1. Click HERE to look at an architectural floorplan map of Miller Hall.
Step 2. Decide your top 3 choices of rooms. (*Note, the rooms are all different as far as what beds are available, which ones have closets/toilets/showers IN ROOM. Also, some rooms have connecting doors that you may have opened if you'd like more by having 2 rooms.)
Step 3. Using the drop down menu on this blog, decide if you want to pay the $230.00 for your room for the 4 days/3 nights OR if you want to pay the $115.00 deposit. You can also mail a check (for either amount) to Karen Beagles.
Step 4. Comment on this blog what your room choices are OR email Karen with your choices.

The room assignments will be first come, first serve based on when we receive the deposits. We will update the blog as to which rooms are available once we start receiving deposits and/or full payments.

4. What kind of activities are we planning?
Albion, ID is a small town located just outside of the farming community of Burley, Idaho. Burley sits right on the Snake River which is popular for boating. Burley also has 2 golf courses (for all you golfers who have mastered the Park City courses) and fine fast food dining (really, Taco Bandido will be where the Tyler Barlows will be found every day for lunch.... YUMMY!!!). There's also grocery stores and shopping and thrift stores and even an airport (Twin Falls) all within about 30 minutes drive from the reunion center. (It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Wal-Mart from Miller Hall.)

The Albion Campus Grove has a plethora of activites for the whole family.
  • Acres of green, plush grass
  • Lots of sidewalks for bike rides around the campus (really, bring the scooters and bikes!)
  • Picnic tables and grills
  • Outdoor fire pits
  • Volleyball, badminton, and bocce
  • Outdoor basketball/sport court
  • Disc golf and ultimate frisbee sets
  • Baseball and football playing areas
  • Yard games: croquet, giant soccer, horseshoes
  • Above-ground swimming pool
  • Hot tub
  • Game room has air hockey, fooseball, and ping pong
  • Media area has DVD and TV
  • Outdoor stage
We will be keeping you posted on our schedule of events once we get some feedback about what kind of activities everyone's interested in. On Friday, we're planning on going as a family to Steadman's Slides, about a 20 minute drive away from Miller Hall, where there's super long water slides, zip lining, skeet shooting, a candy cannon, mud football, etc. Also nearby Albion Campus Grove:
  • Fishing
  • Rock climbing at City of Rocks
  • Mountain biking and hiking at Pomerelle Ski Hill
  • Hot Springs in Almo
  • Canoeing at Lake Cleveland

5. Are we going to have fun?

YES. Totally. Every. Single. Minute. :)

So, we need you to register NOW by paying at least a deposit and letting us know what room you'd like to book for your family. There'll be more information coming your way, so check back to this blog as often as possible.
